Using excel I built an Economic GDP Dashboard. It is a work in progress. The ultimate objective of this dashboard is to build a story that reflects the performance of the GDP of the United States over the last 5 decades.

The Data:
I derived the data from FRED. The Federal Reserve has a plug in called FRED that you can install for Excel. Some pretty cool stuff! Here is a screen shot of the data that I used.
In addition to doing some descriptive analysis I did some forecasting of the GDP based on some assumptions around the growth rate. If you are interested in learning about how I arrived at the forecast, comment below.
Here is the forecast for the next quarter that the FED has not released yet. To give you some background. I assumed worse case scenario of 0.06% growth and best case scenario of 0.10% growth.
